1.
I got up at 5:30 with my girl.
1.
I got out of bed right away, or, at least, as fast as I could.
2.
She was already eating her croissant and tea, though, by the time I got to the table. A short time later, she left to catch the train.
3.
I was mad ... that she was hurrying. But I calmed down, because I could see she was having fun.
4.
I moved a pile of stuff from off my cushion. I was mad when it started to come apart, and books and papers fell in a trail to the bedroom, because I'm not doing better, managing my things.
4.
To cope, I cussed, and then we made jokes.
5.
She left into the dark. It looked nice. That surprised me.
6.
She had asked me to meet her for dinner. Now I'll get to town.
7.
This is only the second week the train has run. It's unbelievable.
8.
Maybe we can support it.
9.
I moved into the bedroom, taking my tools. I wasn't sure what to do. I muddled forward. I assembled some sentences, after all. I looked at some things. I found something that made me cry.
10.
It has become knocking off time. I feel inspired to do chores. The laundry is in a very old wicker basket. There's sweeping. I might assemble the next Gorm shelf.
10.
But if I don't do this before I stop ... it wouldn't be right. I sign up at Narrative. They said "new contact record created: 8524.

The Spiritualists say
if you write or say
a certain kind of thing
it becomes true.
(The world changes.)
2.
It (the certain kind of thing)
(is): An assertion
...
3.
Thus, if I say (or write)
something like
"my garden is neat as a pin,"
that suggests it was not
...
4.
Now we test for an effect.

volume 35, issue 6

editor Mary Cannon writes about the path to being a writer
about sending work to many, many publishers.
6.
About writing and writing.
7.
I am wondering about the
new medium
whether poetry can exist
directly in it? Whether
poetry can refer to it?

List all the poets.

Sitting in a bedroom. 9 am.
Under a cover. A cool morning. Cat.
This may sound trite, but I am hearing the whole universe.
